The
best game in NFL betting Week 6 figures to be in New Orleans as the 4-0 New
Orleans Saints host the 5-0 New York Giants.
It is a homecoming for New York quarterback Eli Manning who will play in
the Superdome for the first time. It is
also a reunion of sorts for New Orleans tight end Jeremy Shockey
who plays his former team for the first time.
The
Saints are 3-point favorites with a total of 47 at SBG Global.
The
battle on Sunday is a matchup of high profile quarterbacks as Eli Manning leads
the Giants while Drew Brees is the Saints Pro Bowl
quarterback. Manning is returning to New
Orleans to play in front of his family and friends. “I am excited about it," Manning said.
"First time playing in the Superdome, ever, for any level of football. I
am excited about getting the opportunity to play where my father spent most of
his career, going to back to New Orleans and playing New Orleans, who is
playing very well this year. Two undefeated teams. It should be a great
atmosphere."
Some
of the focus on Sunday will be on Shockey who faces
his former team. He is having a very
good year with New Orleans, leading the Saints with 18 catches. "I think
Jeremy, just like any competitive guy, wants to get the ball and feels like any
safety or linebacker is a great matchup and that he is going to get open,"
Brees said. "Which the majority of the time he
does, he is a great player. I think he fits very well into what we are trying
to do." The Giants and Saints are also running the ball well and playing
defense. The Saints are second in the
league in rushing while the Giants rank 4th.
The
Saints had last week off and that is really not good news for them. They have
lost five straight games following their bye week. In other NFL betting stats we see that the Giants are 15-5-1 ATS in their
last 21 games as a road underdog. The Giants are 37-17-2 ATS in their last 56
games overall.
The
Saints are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite. The Saints are
6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. the NFC. The favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6
meetings between the two teams.
The
Under is 8-3 in the Giants last 11 games as a road underdog. The Over is 10-2-1
in the Saints last 13 games as a home favorite. The Under is 5-1-1 in the last
7 meetings between the two teams.
